Global Symposium on Racing Speaker: Paul Ryneveld
What began as a summer job in the concession stands at Longacres Racecourse in Renton, Washington has now reached 38 years in the world of horse racing. Ryneveld holds an MBA from the University of Washington as well as a BA of Business Administration from the same. In addition, Ryneveld completed a Bachelor of Animal Science from the University of Arizona while attending the Race Track Industry Program. Currently he is a Director of Business Development and Racing Support with Horse Racing Alberta and co-founder of the racing and gaming consulting company 10Acres Solutions Limited with fellow RTIP alumnus, Dustin Dix.
For the past twelve years, Ryneveld worked on the redevelopment of horse racing in Alberta through the construction of two new racetracks in the major markets of Calgary and Edmonton while the Managing Director-Racing and General Manager of Century Downs Racetrack and Casino. He previously worked in management at Hastings Racecourse, Fairplex Park, Emerald Downs, Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino and Great Lakes Downs as well as on the regulatory side with the Arizona Department of Racing.
Ryneveld has provided operational and construction consulting advice to prospective and actual racing entities as well as racing office operational insight for Sire and Sons, a company focused on streamlining the Thoroughbred entry process. Recently, Ryneveld co-contributed on the Racing Study for the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, the FY 25 Study for the New Mexico Racing Commission, and as a racing consultant for Spectrum Gaming on the 2024 Gaming Expansion Study for the Wyoming Gaming Commission.
