Global Symposium on Racing Speaker: Jay Privman
Jay Privman retired in September 2022 after 24 years as the National Correspondent for Daily Racing Form. He previously worked in print for the Los Angeles Daily News, The Racing Times, The New York Times, and Thoroughbred Times. He has covered 39 Kentucky Derbies, and every Breeders’ Cup but two beginning with the inaugural in 1984. Privman also did extensive television work for Fox, ESPN, CBS, and NBC, working on numerous telecasts that received Eclipse Awards. He received a Special Eclipse Award upon his retirement, and subsequently won an Eclipse Award for writing for an essay on the career of Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas after Lukas’s passing in 2025. He also is a member of the Joe Hirsch Media Roll of Honor at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.
