Global Symposium on Racing Speaker: Craig Milkowski

Craig Milkowski is a horse racing analyst. He became a huge fan of the sport while still in high school in Baltimore, MD. His first trip to see live horse racing was to Bowie Racetrack in 1983. After high school, Craig joined the United States Air Force in May of 1995. He spent over 23 years in service to his country. He never lost touch with racing during this time, visiting well over 100 racetracks around the world. Analyzing the speed of racehorses was his passion. This led to Craig writing software that infused his pace and speed figures into past performances in 2002 while stationed in Saudi Arabia. He introduced color to running lines, something that has been adopted by others. After retiring from the military in 2008, Craig continued with his work and eventually caught the eye of a new start up in racing past performances, TimeformUS. He joined the team in 2014 and is still responsible for producing all figure data in the product, now distributed by Daily Racing From. His work led him to being uniquely qualified to identify problems with race timing in North America. He now works with Equibase as a consultant on timing, and times races from video to get the best possible times for customers when there are problems.
