Global Symposium on Racing Speaker: Chris McCarron
Boston native Chris McCarron burst on the scene in 1974 when he won a record 547 races and the Eclipse Award for outstanding apprentice. He went on to win another Eclipse in 1980 and topped the earnings standings four times and the wins standings three times. McCarron won 7,141 races in his career, including each of the Triple Crown races twice and five editions of the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1989.
