Mike McCarley, a veteran sports and media executive with a track record of partnering with sports leagues to assemble some of the largest audiences in sports, founded TMRW Sports in 2022. A leader in building modern approaches to sports, media and entertainment, TMRW Sports partners with the NFL, PGA Tour and LPGA in creating complementary leagues designed for today’s audiences and evolving media consumption that broaden and deepen engagement with sports fans. As founder and CEO, McCarley leads the company’s strategic direction, oversees its competition and media products, and identifies new opportunities to shape the future of sports experiences.
TMRW Sports’ first project, TGL, is a primetime team golf league in partnership with the PGA Tour that reaches 152 countries and territories worldwide through partnerships with many of the world’s leading media organizations, including Disney and ESPN in the U.S. TGL has been described as a “high-energy arena spectacle” by Vanity Fair and “golf’s boldest new venture” by Fast Company. WTGL, the company’s second project, features teams of the world’s best women golfers in partnership with the LPGA. TMRW Sports is also developing a professional flag football league for women and men in partnership with the NFL.
As an NBC Sports executive for more than 20 years, McCarley helped shape many of sports’ biggest events, including the Super Bowl, NFL’s Sunday Night Football, the Olympics and horse racing’s Triple Crown. He created the award-winning “Sunday Night is Football Night” campaign that helped make Sunday Night Football the No. 1 primetime show on American television. As NBC Sports’ president, golf and global strategy, McCarley led Golf Channel, GolfNow and GolfPass. Under his leadership, Golf Channel became the fastest-growing network on American television.
McCarley is a three-time Emmy Award winner and an inductee into the Sports Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Hall of Fame. He previously worked with USA Triathlon in association with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, Dallas Mavericks and University of Arizona. A native of Memphis, Tenn., and a graduate of the University of Arizona, McCarley resides in the Orlando area with his wife and four children.
