Simon has had a long career in horse racing media, starting out at the Racing Post before moving on to Racecourse Media Group (RMG) and Sports Information Services (SIS), and ultimately joining 1/ST in 2019. His leadership role has expanded beyond the international distribution of North American horse racing to fixed-odds and tote operators across the globe to now include South American and Turkish racing, as well as oversight of Managed Trading Services in Turkey for United Racing. This breadth of experience across pari-mutuel, fixed-odds and managed-trading models sits at the center of this panel’s theme, and Simon joins the discussion to explore how the industry can balance emerging wagering products like fixed odds and prediction markets with the pari-mutuel ecosystem that remains the foundation of the sport.
