Sarah Tregoning is the Director of Media and Communications for the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA) and, as part of the original team that delivered the inaugural Saudi Cup in 2020, Sarah has been part of the Kingdom’s evolving journey in world class horseracing for more than five years.

The JCSA currently operates three seasons of racing, the summer Taif season from July to October, the Taif Winter Season in November and December and the Riyadh racing season from October to March. The Riyadh season includes the USD$38.1m Saudi Cup weekend of international racing at the end of Februry.

Originally from Wales in the UK, Sarah’s role encompasses communications for the domestic Saudi market as well as communications, partnerships and promotions undertaken by the JCSA overseas.

A formally trained journalist, with a degree in Sports Development and Human Movement Studies, Sarah first arrived in the Middle East in 2006 and covered the United Arab Emirate’s multi-faceted sports scene before specialising in equine sports, with particular emphasis on horseracing.

Moving into communications and media operations, she worked on some of the UAE’s biggest destination sporting events before joining Dubai Racing Club where she spent five years delivering communications and media operations around the Emirate’s extensive equestrian and racing activities. These included the Meydan racing seasons, the Dubai World Cup, endurance, showjumping, dressage and eventing as well as the Chengdu-Dubai International Cup in China.

After leaving Dubai Racing Club, Sarah freelanced for a number of high-profile FEI events in the region prior to joining the JCSA.
