Global Symposium on Racing Speaker: Laffit Pincay, Jr.

A native of Panama City, Laffit Pincay, Jr. won five Eclipse Awards and retired with a record 9,530 wins. He won three consecutive editions of the Belmont Stakes from 1982 through 1984 and also won the 1984 Kentucky Derby. Pincay won seven Breeders’ Cup races, including the 1986 Classic. He is the all-time leader in wins at Santa Anita, Del Mar, and Hollywood Park and won a combined 35 riding titles at those tracks. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame 50 years ago in 1975.
