Global Symposium on Racing Speaker: Jodie Vella-Gregory
Jodie Vella-Gregory is Vice President of Industry Relations for 1/ST RACING, where her work brings together industry stakeholders, community partners and organizations to support the continued growth and evolution of Thoroughbred racing. She leads initiatives focused on enhancing the experience of horses and horsemen and women while advancing diversity, representation and opportunity across the sport.
A lifelong equestrian, Jodie has built a career spanning Thoroughbred racing, equine rehabilitation and veterinary care. She has held positions with Breeders’ Cup and Santa Anita Park and brings a broad perspective to the industry.
Jodie is a co-founder and Executive Committee member of the Horse Racing Women’s Association (HRWA), Vice Chair of the Retired Racehorse Project’s Board of Directors, a member of the Safety Net Advisory Committee and a mentor with Amplify Horse Racing.
Outside of racing, Jodie is a Day One member of the Chargers Social Club, a women’s collective powered by the Los Angeles Chargers that celebrates the heritage of sport and the ritual of gathering around the game.
