Dr. Dionne Benson

Dr. Dionne Benson is the Chief Veterinary Officer for 1/ST RACING, North America’s preeminent Thoroughbred racing and pari-mutuel wagering company. In 2019, she was appointed as the company’s first Chief Veterinary Officer. Prior to 1/ST RACING, Dr. Benson served as the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium. Dr. Benson is a highly regarded equine veterinarian and has been honored with the prestigious international Presidents’ Award for Exemplary Service by the Association of Racing Commissioners (ARCI). She holds a Doctorate in Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota and a Juris Doctor (JD) from the William Mitchell College of Law and a Bachelor of Science from the College of Natural Resources from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul.
