Tony Lacy brought a depth of international racing and sales experience to Keeneland when he was named Vice President of Sales in April 2021.

A fourth-generation horseman from Ireland, Lacy was a successful amateur jockey for 11 years.

After working for trainers in France and Dubai, Lacy gained experience in U.S. sales and breeding with Wintergreen Farm in Kentucky and consignor Jerry Bailey in Florida. In 2001, he helped establish Four Star Sales, eventually becoming a partner and developing the company into a leading North American consignor with a diverse client portfolio.

From 2008-2021, Lacy served as the North American representative for the French Thoroughbred sales company Arqana. He also has counseled and represented various international breeding and racing organizations.

Lacy is president of the Thoroughbred Club of America and also serves on the Board of Directors of New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program.

He spoke to the RTIP students about what goes into putting on the prestigious Keeneland Sale each year. "Tony Lacy gave a true “behind the scenes” look at the Keeneland Sales process." said RTIP Chair Robert Hartman. "Students learned how the relationships between Keeneland and buyers/sellers have led to record-setting sales figures."
