Dr. Mary Scollay
A 1984 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Scollay has served as a racing regulatory veterinarian for 37 years, first as association veterinarian on the Chicago thoroughbred circuit Balmoral Park, Sportsman’s Park, Hawthorne Racecourse, and Arlington Park; and then in South Florida at Calder and Gulfstream. She was appointed as the first equine medical director for the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission in 2008, and in 2019 became Executive Director of the Racing Medication & Testing Consortium. She has served as HIWU Chief of Science since October 2022. Dr. Scollay is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the European Horseracing Scientific Liaison Committee, Association of Racing Chemists, and The Jockey Club. She serves on the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities’ Technical Advisory Committee and Advisory Council on Prohibited Substances and Practices. She lives in Georgetown Kentucky with her three horses and two dogs, The Little Criminals, disrupters of Zoom calls since 2019.
