Racing Secretary Summit Returns to Global Symposium on Racing

The 4th annual Racing Secretary Summit makes a return to the Global Symposium on Racing on Monday, December 9 from 11am to 2:30pm. Open to everyone from horsemen to regulators, the summit is primarily geared towards VP/Racing Operations, Racing Secretaries, and Assistant Racing Secretaries, and is designed to offer an in person, welcoming environment for networking, the exchange of ideas, and industry discussion relevant to racing operations. The Racing Secretary Summit has proven to be a valuable resource to the industry, leading to the formation of the Racing Operations Committee (ROCO).

“When the idea of ROCO first formed at our second summit I figured we would be lucky to make it through the year,” comments Rick Hammerle. “I’m proud to say we have met for 22 consecutive months with this summit marking our 2-year anniversary.” ROCO formed from a group of previous summit attendees representing a wide range of tracks and operations meeting monthly to share ideas, discuss industry issues, and look for solutions to those issues. “We are always welcoming new members and hope to add some new faces at this year’s summit” states Hammerle.

This year’s conversation, sponsored by Equibase and the Race Track Industry Program, will be led by Rick Hammerle and Chris Dobbins with a growing agenda including an open meeting of the Racing Operations Committee, a conversation with leaders from HISA and HIWU, and an early look at an in-development ratings system.

Attendance at the summit is free with registration in advance using an exclusive registration code, as a light lunch will be provided.
