RTIP Welcomes Alex Waldrop, Former CEO of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association

RTIP hosted Waldrop’s visit where he addressed both the Advance Regulation and Racetrack Operations classes.
In the Advanced Regulation class the former NTRA President & CEO shared his insights into how industry groups have been integral to making progress in the areas of reform. He spoke about how the industry formed the Racing Medication & Testing Consortium (RMTC) and its subsequent evolution and how it is still relevant today.
In the Racetrack Operations class, Waldrop shared history lessons of the Kentucky Derby while serving as the President of Churchill Downs. He discussed the vast preparations and community support needed for hosting the event an annual of such magnitude.
