RTIP Student Spotlight: Hailey Shiffer

Hailey Shiffer is spending the 2022 Winter Meet as an on-air handicapper at Rillito Park. After entries are released, Hailey studies past performances and watches replays to pick her “Trifecta." Hailey and her fellow handicapper/RTIP student Michael Sandulli also host a “morning show” before the races to give an overview of their picks, betting opportunities, and other Rillito happenings. While the horses are in the paddock, they look over all the contenders then give their final selections. 

Hailey is also taking the opportunity to expand on her photography hobby, snapping action shots of each race from the rail. “This is a new experience for me and I look forward to taking the knowledge I’ve gained in the Race Track Industry Program and from my hands-on work experience to future opportunities!” – Hailey Shiffer
