Christopher McErlean
Christopher McErlean has served as Vice President of Racing for PENN Entertaiment ("PENN") since 2007. PENN Entertainment is North America’s leading provider of integrated entertainment, sports content, casino gaming and horse racing experiences. PENN operates or manages a total of 43 properties in 20 different states and is the leading operator of pari-mutuel racing facilities in North America with 11 racetracks in eight different jurisdictions. In 2022, PENN racetracks conducted nearly 1,200 live racing performances and generated $1.1 billion in pari-mutuel wagering on live and simulcast export and import races. PENN also operates five off-track wagering locations and "Hollywood Races" a national ADW operating in 24 states. Prior to joining PENN, McErlean held multiple executive positions with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority for 14 years, finishing his tenure at the NJSEA as Vice President of Racing for the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park Racetracks. McErlean is the only individual to have served as President of both Thoroughbred Racing Associations (TRA) and Harness Tracks of America (HTA) and currently serves on the boards of TRA, Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau, Equibase Management Committee and the United States Trotting Association and its Executive Committee.
