Alan Balch

Alan F. Balch is Executive Director of California Thoroughbred Trainers, which he joined in April 2010, and is president of USA Equestrian Trust, a private foundation. Previously, at Santa Anita Park, he started in 1971 as Director of Public Relations, and later became Sr. Vice President-Marketing and Asst. General Manager. He served as Competition Director for Olympic Equestrian Sports at Santa Anita for the 1984 Los Angeles Games. From December 1995 through 2001, he was president of the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden, and from 1997-2003 was president of the equestrian National Governing Body of the United States, in New York and Lexington, Kentucky.
